Anyone who knows me knows I love BiRdS!
I have a little place in the mountains called Niecy's Nest.
It is decorated with all kinds of birdie items.
I recently hung this cute little sign!
The nest has three eggs to represent my 3 kiddos - Jenn, Chris, and Bekah.
"Niecy" was my nickname when I was a little girl.

So it was only natural that I wanted to take part in the
Tree Bird Blog Hop
Since I have made a commitment this year to
Use It Up - Wear It Out
Make It Do - Or Do Without!...
...I have used fabric from my stash.
I'm not using the bird fabric collection that you
may have seen on some of the other blog posts.
Here's the collection that I'm using...
It is available at JoAnn Fabrics. I love the colors!
It also has a coordinating panel of birds. Wonderful!
So I cut the panel prints apart...
Then added a wider border around each bird.
Next I made some blocks using this pattern from Quilters Cache.
(They have such a great selection of block patterns in many sizes.)
Then sewed them all together - Whala!...
I made a quilt!
This block pattern works so well with the panel blocks
since it forms a secondary chain design.
I still need to add the borders.
I'm thinking a green inner border and
then the overall bird print as a wider border.
What do you think?
I wasn't able to get it finished...
hernia surgery last week kinda got in the way! Ugh!
But this birdie quilt makes me sing!
