Do it for the ones you love...and that love you. :D Pretty-in-Pink ladies with which I am sooo fortunate to work. They make me laugh...even when they give me a hard time! Luv ya, girls.

Don't forget...do that self-exam.

Lil' Happy Haunted House

Just wanted to share my Happy Haunted House project that I worked on yesterday. It isn't quite finished - still need to do a little something with the back of each page. Then I need to bind it. Haven't decided how I want to do that...with rings? or by bind-it-all?

I used various goodies by several different designers/companies - Spellbinder die cuts, T!m Holtz products, glittery tulle, and Little Yellow Bicycle products. The chipboard house shape, papers, and transparencies are from Little Yellow Bicycle.

Welcome...enjoy your visit inside...

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you can come again soon. Don't forget to leave a comment.

Mother and Child

Aren't they gorgeous? A mama deer and her precious baby having breakfast with Belle and me. I put apples out several times a day and the deer gather to graze. This morning Belle and I were having tea on the back deck when this sweet doe and her fawn joined us. Then baby deer wanted to play hide-and-seek with Belle...
...while mama deer wanted to get a closer look at her new four-legged friend.

"God made you pretty," says beautiful Belle to her new friend. "And He made you pretty, too," replied the sweet lil' deer.
God is good. denise :D

Halloween in Wonderland

Yesterday I made some Halloween cards using the Alice in Wonderland Halloween papers and stamp set...plus some other goodies from my stash. Thanks for stopping by and having a look-see. :D Besides the Halloween in Wonderland papers, this card also has a Spellbinders die cut. After cutting the fence out of black paper and embossing it, I added gold ink - kind of like a gold leaf. Then the cute lil' black cat is flocked - so he's furry. The poison label is a T!m Holtz stamp. It was stamped on white card stock paper then distressed with purple ink.

This card also uses some circular Spellbinders die cuts. That's T!m's film strip along the edge with a strip from the border sheet of the Alice in Wonderland papers. The circular calendar is from a Tattered Angels stamp set.

This next card is much simpler. The queen is actually an inchie that can be removed and used as a magnet. The cat and bat are by Little Yellow Bicycle.

And this last card again has a Spellbinders die cut of a graveyard. Eek! The Tea Party stamp is by Magenta. I'm not sure it's even a Halloween stamp, but hey...it works. The purple circle is actually a clock from that same Tattered Angels stamp set.
It's been fun making these cards. I actually made two of each...in case I want to keep one for myself. Nope...I better send them to family and friends.
Abundant blessings. Thanks for stopping by. I'd love it if you'd leave a comment. :D

Blue Monday

This is my first Blue Monday post. Check out Sally's blog at http://smilingsally.blogspot.com/ to learn more.

This picture was taken at my father's house in Texas as I pulled into the driveway one morning. He looks like such a serene, happy lil' bird.

Happy Blue Monday to you,

Happy Haunting!

Yesterday I took a class at The Stamp Act taught by my friend, Polly. Here's a picture of the cute Halloween shadow box we made. Lots of cool techniques - flocking the black cats, masking the street light for the cat, embossing, glittering, stamping, and Cuddlebug goodies.

Thank you to Polly for sharing her gift of creativity.

Happy Haunting, denise :D

Friends Are Fabulous!

My dear friend, Karen, and I spent a weekend in the mountains...kind of a mini-quilting retreat.

Pictured above is one of the blocks (Friendship Star) of a quilting project I've been working on - - - forever! It is from the book 'At Piece With Time - A Woman's Journey Stitched In Cloth' by Kristin C. Steiner and Diane C. Frankenberger. Several years ago Kristin Steiner did a trunk show and class for our quilt guild. We learned her needle-turn applique technique.

The book is a journal journey from childhood to adulthood depicted in various blocks.
Karen was cutting and sewing all weekend. She used a set of fat quarters from the "Awesome" fabric collection.
She finished this Sudoko quilt...

...and got the blocks made for this log cabin quilt.
Beautiful work by my fabulous friend, Karen.
Thank you, God, for your abundant love.

I Had The Time of My Life...With T!M

I recently had the pleasure of spending two days - taking three classes - with Tim Holtz. Check him out at timholtz.com if you are not familiar with his fabulous art work. He is such a genuine and generous soul. Luv him! His business manager, Mario, is a great guy as well.

Always ready to pose for a photo no matter how busy they both might be. And there were lots of us crazy peeps (both women and men) who wanted autographs and photos with T!M and Mario. :D

Look at this awesome goodness of goodies that T!M shared with us to make our Shadow Boxes. Treasures galore...vintage toy cars (my favorite), old wires and buttons and game pieces and type set letters...plus all his line of ideaology embellishments. What a treat!

This is T!M's Shadow Box project. This was an all-day class with a delicious lunch provided.

Here's another shot with the door open. Such wonderful bits and pieces.

This was one of the half-day classes - Creative Blocks. Cool little bitty canvases on a larger canvas with T!M's papers and trinkets.

This is the other half-day class - a beautiful Grunge Board Book. We learned to paint with the dabbers and distress and dye ribbon and make pretties.

Here's my finished Creative Blocks project. Each item was carefully chosen...the calendar is my birth month (July)...I'm 55...I love birds...the bottle cap paper has a root beer cap - my mom loved root beer floats.

And here's my almost finished Shadow Box. I still have a few things I want to add in some of the little nooks and I need to finish my door with some beads and baubles. T!M gave us all a frozen charlotte head...plus all the other treasures. He is fabulous!

I had the time of my life...with T!M. He is a true blessing to anyone who has had the pleasure of taking a class with him.
As T!M says, "Enjoy the journey."
