Starting on my New Year's Resolution to complete at least one WIP (Works In Progress) a month. Got lots of WIPs around my house...cross-stitching, quilting, jewelry making, punch needle, primitive rug hooking, stamping, mixed media. You name it...I've probably got it started somewhere around here.
I'm stitching this peice on 28 count Cashel linen using wonderful overdyed threads from Weeks Dye Works (Moss) and Crescent Colours (Caterpillar, House Wine, Morning Glory, and Ye Olde Gold). Gorgeous...simply gorgeous.
And you...what are you working on? Leave a comment to win a special cross-stitch prize. (Or a special quilting prize if you're not a cross-stitcher...or a stamping prize...or jewelry making prize!)
May you, too, Age Artfully,
denise :D
its so pretty! I used to cross stitch wayyyyy back when...still have lots of unfinished things...but love any sewing...and any jewelry...just love crafting! good luck all
ReplyDeleteWOW it is gorgeous! So festive and perfectly made, you should be proud of yourself!
ReplyDeleteI'm working on New Year's cards and winter themed swaps, along with a beaded ring. I scrap and stamp and paint and bead and more, so I sure intend to age artfully (if you read my moto in my blog you'll see why). TFS

Hi Denise, I came by from Byhand Artists so I'm more of a stamper-also fiber artist. I love to do crewl as well, can't see to do counted cross!I'm working on all the projects I put aside for the holidays- some repairs and socks and a project on my new loom( still in my head)
ReplyDeleteBlessings of the season,
robyn
I've been working on making pendants from 1" tiles I picked up at the dollar store. I'm letting my muse take over on what to put on them. So far a floral flourish, a pen and ink doodle, and a primitive heart.
ReplyDeleteI used to crossstitch - a lot! Burned out on it. I still embroider a bit but mostly quilt and creat with paper. You piece is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteMy works in progress are a mix media painting on canvas , almost done. a few pendents and a couple of small blank canvases that i want to use for the front and back of a journal plus im starting life book on the first .
ReplyDeletei love mix media, jewelry and use fabric in projects but i don't really sew or cross stitch
Beautiful work on that cross stitch. I have also committed to finishing what I have started and begun by organizing the projects into large bags with all remaining items to finish. This should help me clear my desk and make some of the projects easier to complete.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your creativity.
I love what is said in the cross stitch. Since I am in the "aging" gracefully catagory Ifind it easier to do much of what is in that saying. I jiggle, I think I flirt more because I am more comfortable with myself, I have made more friends in the past couple of years, but sadly also lost friends, love to kiss and hug...now the mending of fences is my downfall.
ReplyDeleteI have not got to the point of quoting myself.
I am trying to get new samples made so I can publish my patterns. Mostly Quilt patterns, but a few purses and totes.
Merry Christmas
I am currently working on another fabric journal, with laces and buttons etc etc. It takes a long time to finish one of these, but I just love working (really is playing) with fabric and trims.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to all.
Merry Christmas Denise! I'm still working on Tim's twelve tags. I've competed three w/ two in the works and five to start and finish by New Year's. Then I'm going to complete my Christmas configurations box. Thanks so much for sharing your projects! Beautiful!!
ReplyDeletelove the saying and I wish I was aging gracefully. I think I am fighting every minute of it LOL

Our family had their Christmas yesterday. As of Friday I was finishing up a few last minute gifts. One being photo collages I did for my mom of each of her grand kids. I did them in an altered art style on cavas. Then also finished embroidering some shirts and towels for gifts. Today, a relaxing day and I am cutting fabrics for my next large rag quilt. Love your blog and very sweet of you to offer a prize.
ReplyDeleteI am still working on filling up my Christmas junk journal. It is fun to pick up scraps, tags and ribbons at my holiday gatherings.
ReplyDeleteYour cross stitch is really amazing. I am not into fabric or stitching, but i sure can appreciate the work!
I'm still working on Tim's 12 tags of Christmas.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to everyone. Love the cross-stitch piece you are working on. I'm still working on Peaceful Pathways Quilt By Esther Aliu.
ReplyDeleteWonderful quote and beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteI have been working on gourds with silhouettes of a camel and the three wise men and on the other side of a shepherd and sheep all heading towards an opening cut in the gourd where we set a wonderful holy family made out of polymer clay by my sister! And, of course, charms! We just finished my nieces wedding outfit for her January wedding. Love your idea of finishing works in progress. I have a journal to finish!
ReplyDeleteMy first visit your blog. You do beautiful work from the cross stitch to the paper crafting. Was a delight to peruse all the different things. Very inspirational.

ReplyDeleteYour cross stitching it beautiful! I have done a little cross stitching but it has been so long. I have to say, it's just about the neatest thing, i should really get back to it.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas. Nice job w/ the cross-stitching. I like the colors. I have never cross-stitched. I have a lot of things I need to do. I have a lot of materials, just need to get to making. I need to get back to scrapbooking, jewelry making, making totes, etc. I stamp too, basically for the scrapbooking. I made some jewelry not too long ago, some bracelets & an ankle bracelet for my mom. I also plan on making some decals to iron on black t-shirts. Nice blog. Thanks for sharing.

This cross stitch is awesome! I loved Lizzy Kate when I dabbled in cross stitch a good while ago. Finishing WIP is such a stretch but a good New Year's resolution. Thanks for such a nice giveaway! Have a wonderful New Year!
ReplyDeleteI'm working on 2 quilt WIP's at the moment. Hopefully getting closer to finishing them. Love your Cross-stitch .
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year. That is a great cross stitch pattern. Definitely makes you think about what you have happening in your life.
ReplyDeleteI am working on family quilts. Right now the top for my neice is 2/3 done. Then I start on my other sisters and her 2 sons quilts.I try to make them specifically for the person. Thanks for sharing.
Your corss stitch project is beautiful, and thoughful. I did one cross stitch project years ago but found it tireing to do the same thing over and over again. But this one would be a great one to see each morning as I start the day.
ReplyDeleteLove the cross stitch pattern you are working on. I have been hand stitching a wool quilt. May the new year bring great joy and happiness.
ReplyDeleteLove the words and wimsey in that cross-stitch. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteworking on a pair of knitted socks, shawl, scarf, scrapbook, seed bead bracelet and polymer charm pin. I think I will throw them all in a hat and finish what I pull out. Oh, who am I kidding I'll work on all of them a little at a time in between my reading, I love to read.
ReplyDeletelove your crosstiching project! Thanks for the chance!

Beautiful crosstitching, I love to do many crafts but crosstitching is not one of my crafts. I have done some on my embroidery machine and it is fun.
ReplyDeleteI'm working on a Steampunk Style Altered Wall Canvas for my best friend, using inks, stamps, chipboard and metal. I love the steampunk style! I'm also trying to make my own steampunk charms because I'd love to get into making steampunk style jewelry. Your creations are lovely!
ReplyDeleteRight now, I'm working on a scrapbook, but in my spare time, it's anything in paper!
