    I'm excited to start, but am completely stuck when it comes to picking fabrics. If I could settle on some sort of color scheme then the scrappy part will be easier.

      Hi, Esther. Moda has an example of a neighborhood using their Grunge Collection as well as a scrappy one using vintage Civil War types of fabrics. Good luck with choosing your "building materials'!

    You asked if a kit is available. Yes! I have Moda Grunge "Be My Nieghbor" kits for $159.00. It includes the background fabric and 23 wonderful colors for the piecing. There will be enough fabric for a Piano Key Border as well.
